SARAH SHOOK & THE DISARMERS

North Carolina’s Sarah Shook sings with a conviction and hard honesty sorely lacking in much of today’s Americana landscape. Always passionate, at times profane, Sarah stalks/walks the line between vulnerable and menacing, her voice strong and uneasy, country classic but with contemporary, earthy tension. You can hear in her voice what’s she’s seen; world weary, lessons learned—or not—but always defiant. She level-steady means what she says. Writing with a blunt urgency—so refreshing these days it’s almost startling—Sarah’s lyrics are in turn smart, funny, mean, and above all, uncompromising. The Disarmers hit all the sweet spots from Nashville’s Lower Broad to Bakersfield and take Sarah’s unflinching tales out for some late-night kicks. At times, it’s as simple and muscular as Luther Perkins’ boom-chicka-boom, or as downtown as Johnny Thunders. The Disarmers keep in the pocket, tight and tough.

BEX

“The sound exists somewhere between the land of dreams and reality”—Counterzine.

Embodying all that is ethereal, BEX is the dream-pop brain baby of Bex Vines from North Carolina, with live members Mary Steinbrecher on bass, Lila Richardson on drums, and Lauren Hewer on leads. “Although the inspiration and subject matter within BEX’s music is relatable to listeners, their sound is still one that is entirely unique and recognizable to them as a band, an admirable and important quality in the world of independent music. BEX has created an essence that feels both familiar and rare all at once.” —Melted Magazine.

Written with inspiration from dreams and stream-of-consciousness prose, Bex’s performances transport and enchant audiences while giving space to provide a high-energy environment. Since the premiere of her debut EP ‘Don’t Mess With Bexas’, Bex is currently in the process of recording a sophomore LP, set for release in 2022.

MAGGIE VALLEY BAND

Hailing from North Carolina, two sisters and friends of the Maggie Valley band came together in the town they now identify themselves with. Each member learned their trade of music in the beautiful mountains of Maggie Valley, NC. Sisters Whitney & Caroline Miller grew up in a home where playing the piano was a daily requirement. Daily requirements turned to passion as they hit the streets to street busk. After years of busking, The Maggie Valley Band was officially formed and decided to take it inside-to venues. TMVB released their album “The Hardest Thing” in 2018 under under the direction of Grammy & Emmy nominated producer, David Mayfield. TMVB comes together to produce a sound affectionately referred to as “Dark Appalachian”.

In 2019, TMVB released the singles, “Silence” and “Something New” under the production of Jantzen Wray.

TMVB’s career has taken them as far as Canada to Southern Florida and partnering with great & diverse acts such as: David Mayfield, Jason Isbell, Infamous Stringdusters, Robert Randolph & the Family Band Black Lillies, Indigo Girls,Brent Cobb, Donna & the Buffalo Lonesome Riverband and many more!
