Drunken Prayer/Morgan Geer

With a musical career that started in the early 90’s at Warren Wilson College, Morgan Christopher Geer has spent the past 30 years bringing a mix of Punk, Rock, Blues, Country, Gospel, and Americana to fans across the United States and beyond. His former bands include The Merle and Unholy Trio. After a conversation with Tom Waits in California, Geer was inspired to start his most recent musical venture, Drunken Prayer.

On his 7th album, 2025’s Thy Burdens, Geer is credited for creating a completely new type of music: Cosmic Gospel. Today Drunken Prayer is a stalwart of the burgeoning Asheville music scene. Geer’s other bands Los Gun Show (Blues/Rock) and Unholy Trio (Country/Honky Tonk) will each play a set showcasing special guests from Town Mountain, Sounding Arrow, Pleasure Chest and JD Pinkus.

Equal Plates Project

Prompted by the COVID crisis, when area farmers found themselves with fewer restaurants and markets to sell to, the Equal Plates Project began. They purchase directly from small farms at fair prices, transform their quality ingredients into scratch-made meals, and partner with community organizations to share thousands of meals each week with neighbors facing food insecurity.
