ALL AGES STANDING ROOM ONLY The Firefly Gathering invites you for an evening of communal connection and medicine for the heart and soul! As the nights lengthen and the world often feels like too much to hold, we’re curating a liminal space of awareness and release, where we can acknowledge the reality we’re collectively in, and give ourselves over to the healing power of movement through dancing, singing and play. So bust out your feral finery and get ready to come together on November 22 at the Grey Eagle to move through the madness into joy! In addition to Holy River, we’ll have a Contra Dance, Sycamore Spring, and Teso Ellis, plus the Holiday Craft Bazaar & Skills Demos, a playful Sock Wrestling tournament, Bigwitch’s Native Cultural Offerings, Street Creature Puppet Collective and more! This is a Community Building Event and as you see ticket tiers reflect this. The Firefly Gathering is a local nonprofit that believes in the power of the people! Humanimals are communal beings, needing each other to thrive. We’ve evolved in a landscape of mutual aid and reciprocity, intricately interwoven with the natural world. We’re all feeling the impacts of the times, so this event is priced to be accessible to as many folks as possible! This is our annual Fall Fundraising event, so please give a little – or A LOT – according to your ability, and plan to join us for this family friendly event! Blue Country Line Dance’s Giddy Up Brunch
ALL AGES EVENT: 11AM Blue Country Line Dance’s Giddy Up Brunch Come boot scoot your way over and dance with BLUE COUNTRY Queer Line dancing is all the rage – and for good reason — it’s incredibly fun, addicting and sweetly, intensely inclusive. Queer culture has transformed this social art of dance into something truly magical – that extends beyond the boots & hats & country music (although we still love that too). We dance to all kinds of music, dancing choreography at all skill levels, at all ages. Coming to one of these events is an invite into a safe space to learn steps, find community and express yourself on the dance floor. Each dance has a DRESS UP THEME – October 10th is ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW in homage to the late, great Tim Curry: So queer up your favorite Time Warp-inspired outfit or costume. (Or if you’ve already entered the time warp and & have little time to come up with something: red, black, white & anything kiss-smack marked will do!) GIDDY UP BRUNCH : Saturday 11am-2pm 11am-12pm Beginner Hour – includes follow-along, talk-through beginner dances and a Time Warp lesson by Blue Country’s Zoe Hawkins-Wells 12pm-2pm All Levels – includes a higher level lesson & a mix of dances, two-step, pattern partner circle dances and your requests. – ALL AGES- FULLY SEATED SHOW Ten Minute Movies returns for the first time since 2023! We take cult and classic movies and transform them into ten minute plays on the Grey Eagle stage, building ramshackle worlds out of old cardboard and thrift store castoffs. Dinner and a show with Jamie Ager
Join us for a FREE concert in support of Jamie Ager, owner of Hickory Nut Gap Farm andcandidate for U.S. Congress. Featuring Doss Church & The Unholy Noise and The Lucky Buckeyes. Born in Fairview, Jamie is a fourth-generation farmer, entrepreneur, and proud son of WesternNorth Carolina. A graduate of A.C. Reynolds High School and Warren Wilson College, Jamieand his wife Amy have raised a family and built Hickory Nut Gap Farm up to support 25employees and work with dozens of farmers across our region. He’s running for Congress witha platform centered around getting us the money we need to recover from Hurricane Helene,bringing down the cost of living, and restoring people’s trust in our government. Doss Church & The Unholy Noise is an Asheville-based Americana Rock & Roll band led byexperienced singer/songwriter, Doss Church, that combines Americana, Country, and Folk Rockinfluences that range from the 60s to today and delivers a sound that feels both new and old atthe same time. The honest songwriting, veteran musicianship, and electric stage presence ofthe entire group make for a truly moving live performance. The Lucky Buckeyes are a slightly ragtag group of family and friends from Fairview. They playtraditional fiddle tunes, contemporary bluegrass, and a smattering of folk and country covers. ALL AGES STANDING ROOM ONLY SEBASTIEN BORDEAUX Emerging working American roots musician. Sebastien Bordeaux plays traditional country, cajun, blues, swing, jazz, latin, hillbilly bop, rockabilly, surf, honky-tonk, manouche and Americana. He has mentored and toured as a bass player with American Legendary Song-Writer Wayne “the Train” Hancock.Bordeaux released his first album under Wild Records in 2022. Several DIY singles. A live album in the beginning of 2026 featuring The Centuries out of Los Angeles.Sebastien is currently about to release his 2nd studio album with Swelltune Records this fall of 2026!With his punk rock upbringing and unsurpassed love and passion for traditional roots music, Sebastien brings an edge and authenticity many are lacking in the modern age.Sebastien has and continues to tour across North America, Japan, Mexico, Europe and South America playing pubs, city events, theatres and festivals.Sebastien’s music and bands consist of a-list musicians from Nashville and around the world. His music can be described as appropriate for a large group of avid dancers, or beer drinking foot stompers. He intertwines elements of broody dark misfortune like in “Dig a Bone,” to uplifting words of romance and world travel as in the words of “Machu Picchu.”A true authentic emerging roots music. One whom you will love in your playlists regardless of the type of music you’re passionate for. Sebastien Bordeaux is a timeless addition to the world of music. WOODY WOOD & ABE REID of The Blue Rags WOODY WOOD Asheville’s own Cosmic Appalachian Soul / Musical style that doesn’t fit neatly into any one style but is a genre-bending fusion of rock, blues, and soul. ABE REIDAbe Reid is a North Carolina musician and one of the modern keepers of the Piedmont roots music tradition. Born in Forsyth County and raised in Statesville, Reid began playing guitar at a young age, developing a deep connection to the region’s historic finger-style traditions. His musical education came directly from the source. As a young player, he spent time with legendary Carolina musicians Guitar Gabriel and Cootie Stark, learning not only guitar technique but also the storytelling and spirit behind traditional American music. In the 1990s, Reid immersed himself in the life of a working musician, busking on the streets of New Orleans before returning to North Carolina’s music scene. He later helped form the roots band The Blue Rags, known for energetic performances and traditional sounds. Reid gained international recognition when he won the International Blues Challenge in Memphis—becoming the first solo performer to win the competition. Today, Abe Reid continues to perform, teach, and share the music of the American South, passing on knowledge learned from older musicians and decades on the road.

ALL AGES EVENT: 11AM Blue Country Line Dance’s Giddy Up Brunch Learn some of the hottest country & hip hop line dances with the Blue Country Line Dancers and dance all afternoon! Country Swing & Two-Steppers are welcome to join as they’ll be opportunities to strut your stuff. To top it all off, grab a mimosa or bloody and some delicious crunchy-lunchy dishes from the Taqueria. This is your weekend opportunity to dance your heart out with super-friendly dancers & instructors.
