Many A Ship
Many A Ship
Many a Ship is an indie-folk-rock band with deep roots in the mountains of Western North Carolina. The band formed in the summer of 2017 when music duo Vickie Burick (guitar, vocals) and Sam Brinkley (drums, vocals) joined forces with Josh Gibbs (lap steel) and Andy Gibbon (bass). Many a Ship features original songs by Burick, brought to fruition through the talent and creativity of Brinkley, Gibbs, and Gibbon. Collectively their music is a sea of stories about life, love, heartache, truth, friendship, despair and hope. "Many a Ship have set sail on these waters, many a ship yet to be".

many a ship

last night in our rocking chairs
under stars
clouds pushing up like waves
in the deep blue sea
each time tilting back
hearts open to the sky
with music sounding from the
wooden slats beneath
lifting like fireflies, like sparks from a flame
rising into the air
one star the port
another the bow
urging the clouds into waves
of the sea
many a ship have set sail in these waters
many a ship yet to be

"After You've Gone" is a brand new full length release from Matt Sellars. Do not miss Matt Sellars, and a full band play the album in its entirety in celebration of its release! Each admission ticket comes with a copy of the album. News and more details available at mattsellars.net $8 at the door.

For fans of Singer/Songwriters, Americana, Bluegrass, Blues, Blueberries and the like, Matt Sellars is worth a listen.

After years of crawling across Western North Carolina, Nashville, East Tennessee and throughout the south, Matt stepped in to the studio to make his first recorded effort, 2013’s This Side of the Mississipp. You can hear all of the influences that were soaked up and eventually poured out over the years. His style rings true to the music he loves and devotes himself to; the sounds of classic artists like Doc Watson and John Prine marry seamlessly with contemporary favorites like Tim O'brien and Darrell Scott.

Since the recording of that album, Matt has been writing, getting banjo cat tattoos, and playing in various Honky Tonk bands around Asheville North Carolina, as well as exploring many career paths, finally settling with the obvious choice of Banjo Luthier at Pisgah Banjos. Beginning mid August 2018, Matt Sellars will start recording his new full length record "After You've Gone" at Crossroads Studio in Arden North Carolina.
