Allegra Krieger
Allegra Krieger
"A considered, experimental, and emotional approach to folk which sees her incorporate self-reflective lyrics, avant-garde musical flourishes, and an approach to melody that is reminiscent, but not derivative, of Joni Mitchell. There is a world-weariness and weight to her music that some musicians spend a lifetime trying to imbue into their music." - Jamie Coughlan (of Overblown)

"Krieger comes across as the genuine article. The visceral emotionalism in her music is cathartic and gripping." - Ear to the Ground Music

Allegra Krieger is currently based in New York performing in the city with her ever rotating band of sensitive & diverse musicians. She also often travels across the country to play in tiny bar rooms & sleep in her car. Her first record Circles was released October 2017, and her follow up is in the works.
AMBY began with singer-sonwriter and classical musician, Abrianna Brown. She always wanted to fly; and so she flew. She flew from Honduras to South Carolina to California to New Orleans to Japan, to Germany and to North Carolina. Her family was always on the move. Shifting environments brought out a well rounded view of music that can be heard in her works. AMBY produces in the Electronic-Soul and PBR&B style. "AMBY is a singer and songwriter with a truly unique approach to her blend of music. Her sound falls somewhere in between experimental electronic, Soul and R&B." -A&R Factory

Initially, AMBY wasn't keen on going to college for classical music but as a result of her mother's persistence, she did, and she loved her valuable music education. Through it she had the opportunity to sing in opera performances and sing in Germany. She did well and graduated with her degrees. Post college she moved in with some musicians from college. While living in Spartanburg, SC she performed when she could while working also working two jobs. Next, AMBY made a move to the Asheville, NC area. There she played shows at Fonta Flora Brewery, The One Stop with guitarist, Jay Anderson, Phil Mechanic Studios, and other small arts events.

AMBY is currently focusing energy primarily on the production of the EP Dysthymia and collaboration with other artists. AMBY is also experimenting with a live set that includes both electronic and acoustic instruments! They are excited about the development of these projects and encourage you to join the mailing list! Become a part of the family and follow along as the journey continues!
