Josh Rouse - Tuesday January 23rd!
Posted on Friday, January 12   LINK

We are proud to welcome Josh Rouse to Asheville on Tuesday January 23rd at 8:30pm. In a time when the charts are topped with blockbuster pop and hip-hop releases with massive marketing budgets, there is also a strong contingent of singer songwriters who are doing it their way and earning the respect of critics and fans on their own musical terms. The likes of Ryan Adams, Wilco, Damien Rice and Jack Johnson have established that you dont need what has become a formulaic radio hit to be successful. Slow and steady wins the race and with Josh Rouse's passionate music and lyrics that touch your heart, the finish line isnt far away at all. Advance tickets may be purchased with cash or check now at The Grey Eagle, Harvest Records, Orbit DVD & online with credit card at www.thegreyeagle.com.

Thursday night @ 8pm-Stacey Earle & Mark Stuart
Posted on Sunday, January 7   LINK

Stacey Earle & Mark Stuart are two extremely gifted musicians/songwriters. They also happen to be two of the nicest, most entertaining people you'll meet. Come spend some time with them this Thursday night @ 8pm. Here's what Atlanta's Creative Loafing had to say about Stacey & Mark: "Though Stacey Earle is most often referenced as the younger sister of outspoken singer/songwriter Steve, the younger Earle's singing/songwriting capabilities are nothing to gloss over. With modern country stars shilling glitz and patriotism, Earle and husband Mark Stuart create the kind of smart, intimate, lived-in version of Americana that's an endangered pleasure these days."

Don't Miss Fred Eaglesmith this Thursday night!
Posted on Tuesday, January 2   LINK

Fred is our second favortie Eagle of all-time and it's always a treat when he brings his Flying Squirrels by. Catch them this Thursday night at 8:30 pm. Advance tickets on sale now. Here's what The Los Angeles Daily News has to say aboot Fred: "Genuine Canadian farm boy Eaglesmith has long been a chronicler of country lives losing ground, and this latest collection is no different. Droughts, long-haul trucker loneliness, nursing-home cowboys, the title small-town waitress off on a robbery spree with her no-good boyfriend and, of course, that faded love -- the loyal fan base known as Fredheads have another soundtrack for their antidepressant hoedowns. It would all be too sad if Eaglesmith weren't such an evocative writer and if his verge-of-a-breakdown voice didn't convey the most dramatic and poignant emotional shadings."
