A guitar focused singer/songwriter, Patty Larkin has immersed herself in a musical world that knows no borders. She will return to the Grey Eagle on Thursday July 27th for an exceptional evening of finely crafted tunes and guitar mastery. If you like well written songs played by a truly inspiring musician, don't miss this show!! Vanguard Recording artist Vicki Genfan opens the show. Genfan's dynamic style borrows as much from Michael Hedges and Pat Metheny as it does from James Taylor and Earth, Wind & Fire. Playing both original instrumentals and vocal based songs, Genfan uses two handed tapping, harmonic slaps, and alternate tunings (19 to date) in a style that is uniquely her own. Advance tickets on sale now online and thru our regular ticket outlets (Harvest Records, Orbit DVD).
Austin's Wayne Hancock is the world's finest purveyor of an enticing blend of honky tonk, western swing, blues, Texas rockabilly and big band we like to call juke joint swing. At a time when may self-proclaimed musicologists and genre snobs want to bottle America's rich musical legacy, label it, and put it on a museum shelf, Wayne and his band will have none of it. Matter of fact, they aim to uncork the strong stuff and serve it up, night after night in town after town -- to hell with the neighbors or getting a good night's rest! It's swing time! It's been nearly 3 years since Wayne last visited The Grey Eagle and we're very pleased to have him back on Wednesday August 2nd. Advance tickets are on sale now.
