On behalf of everyone here at The Grey Eagle, we'd like to thank you for supporting live music and making this first year under our new ownership a great success. Last night's New Year's Eve celebration was a sold-out blast, and we hope to see all of you again soon in the weeks and months to come.
Last week WNCW 88.7FM announced their annual Top 100 and Top 20 regional releases of 2005, and we're proud as punch to say that many of these recordings are by artists who frequent the Grey Eagle stage! We're thrilled that artists like: Rodney Crowell, Tim O'Brien, Leo Kottke, Ralph Stanley, Malcolm Holcombe, & Robbie Fulks all performed here this past year. We're equally proud of the fact that 14 of the artists in the regional Top 20 are regulars as well, and congratulations to our good friends in: Biscuit Burners, Steep Canyon Rangers, Larry Keel & Natural Bridge, Divine Maggees, Toubab Krewe, Stephanie's Id, Firecracker Jazz Band, and Dave Desmelik for topping both lists! (Oh, and Brian's pretty proud that he got to record and perform on two of 2005's best: Tyler Ramsey's self-titled debut and Dave Desmelik's "When Your Eyes are Closed".)
It's our performers, staff, and you that make this such a special place, and we look forward to another great year ahead!
