Acclaimed fiddle virtuoso Vassar Clements died August 16 of cancer at his daughter's home outside of Nashville. He was 77. Vassar was a regular on The Grey Eagle stage and both the man and his music will be sorely missed. For more information, please visit www.vassarclements.com.

Also, Robert Moog, whose self-named synthesizers turned electric currents into sound, revolutionizing music in the 1960s and opening the wave that became electronica, has died. He was 71.
