Acclaimed fiddle virtuoso Vassar Clements died August 16 of cancer at his daughter's home outside of Nashville. He was 77. Vassar was a regular on The Grey Eagle stage and both the man and his music will be sorely missed. For more information, please visit www.vassarclements.com.

Also, Robert Moog, whose self-named synthesizers turned electric currents into sound, revolutionizing music in the 1960s and opening the wave that became electronica, has died. He was 71. Moog died Sunday at his home in Asheville. An inoperable brain tumor had been detected in April. For more information, please visit: www.bigbriar.com.
Greetings music lovers. Thanks so much for the outpour of support we received at our grand re-opening celebration. A great time was had by all and previous Grey Eagle owner, Tyler Richardson, left Asheville with a big smile on his face. He will be sorely missed but we're very excited about expanding on the great things he started here at The Grey Eagle. We have an exceptional offering of shows coming your way over the next few months. Please check our calendar for a complete listing of shows. In the coming weeks, musical samples of performers scheduled to take the Grey Eagle stage will be available on our calendar page. Don't forget about our advance ticket outlets: Harvest Records, Orbit DVD, Sounds Familiar, and In Your Ear (West Asheville location). You can also purchase advance tickets at The Grey Eagle or through our calendar page. What's the advantage of buying advance tickets, you ask? They're cheaper!! Thanks for your continued support of live music. Jeff & Brian
