SEATED SHOW

Alexa Rose
Alexa Rose
Alexa Rose has the rare ability to find strikingly original melodies that nevertheless sound like they must have existed for a long time, stored away maybe in the ether of creativity, self-evident and awaiting discovery. Moving deftly between complex dexterity and heart-tugging familiarity, Rose achieves a sound that pushes gently alongside the bright vocal experimentalism of Joni Mitchell and Joanna Newsom while maintaining the brassy attitude and simple refrains that run straight through American roots music from mountain ballads to rock n roll.

Amidst the sea of earnestly soft-sung songs on the Americana circuit, Rose’s voice stands out with depth and complexity, capable of gymnastic yodels and deep resonance. Rose’s sound evokes the likes of Hurray for the Riff Raff and Margot Price, but she cultivates her own hard-working perspective without imitation or posturing. What separates her from the crowd is a tangible, relatable sense of hunger and realism about the sacrifices of the road, the elusiveness of fulfillment, and the bittersweetness of dreams.
The Maggie Valley Band
The Maggie Valley Band
Hailing from North Carolina two sisters and friends of the Maggie Valley band came together in the town they now identify themselves with. Each member learned their trade of music in the beautiful mountains of Maggie Valley, NC. Sisters Whitney & Caroline Miller grew up in a home where playing the piano was a daily requirement. The Maggie Valley Band has been influenced by a wide variety of artists, movements, cultures, and ideas.
Ashley Heath
Ashley Heath
Ashley Heath is an artist from Marshall, NC who plays a wide range of Americana music. Raised in the foothills of Appalachia, she has developed a strong passion for country, blues, and folk music. You can hear major influences from Eva Cassidy in her velvety vocals too Bonnie Raitt in her bluesy guitar playing! In March of 2015, Heath decided to go full time into singing and playing music, quit her part time job as a barista in downtown Asheville, and recorded her first album “A Different Stream”. The album was recorded at the amazing Echo Mountain Recording Studios in Asheville, NC with producer Ryan Burns and engineer Clay Miller. “A Different Stream” is a collection of Heath’s first attempt at songwriting and is a seven song album with six original songs and one cover titled “Ready for The Times to Get Better”. Her debut album “A Different Stream” was released on Friday May 27th, 2016 at The Asheville Music Hall with newly formed band “Ashley Heath and Her Heathens”. The band consists of members Ashley Heath on vocals and rhythm guitar, Casey Cramer on lead guitar, Elijah Cramer on bass, and Patrick Thomas on drums. The band brings a more blues and rock feel to the songs and you can expect to hear a mixture of songs from the new album “A Different Stream” as well as a handful of blues cover tunes at the live shows!
